Holtasóley (Mountain Avens)
The national flower of Iceland, Mountain Avens are symbols of innocence and longevity. What drew me to this flower was its tough and yet delicate contradictions. It is found growing in dry, alpine regions and has acclimated to the harsh landscape of Iceland despite its delicate appearance.
What makes this flower so important to the people of Iceland? It has many medicinal properties and has been used for centuries as for medicinal purposes and is surrounded with myths and lore.
This One of a Kind pendant is made from glass enamel, 24 and 22k gold, and silver. It is garnished with a handmade cabochon created from Icelandic lava and on the chain are two pebbles hand collected from Víkurfjara Black Sand Beach.
