The Quite Wild

The Soul of the Pacific Northwest

The Pacific Northwest has always pulled at something deep within me.
There’s a quiet, powerful energy in that region—fog-laced forests, jagged coastlines, the rhythm of rain, and the raw, untamed presence of the sea. It’s wild, mysterious, and strangely comforting. If it weren’t for the damp weather, I’ve often imagined calling it home.

A Journey Along the Coast

On a recent trip through the Seattle area—camping along the coastal highways with my dog Ludo—I felt that pull more strongly than ever.
Driving forest-lined roads, exploring tidepools, and sleeping near the crashing surf filled me with both wonder and calm. I found myself mentally sketching jewelry ideas as I moved through the landscape.

The Orcas Were Everything

What stayed with me most was the striking contrast between the landscape and the life within it.
The cold, rocky shoreline frames these sleek, powerful orcas gliding just offshore.
There’s something about them—part mystery, part myth.
Watching them felt like stepping into a dream. Their playfulness, their intelligence, and their connection to each other all became a key part of this collection’s story.

Bringing It All Into the Studio

Each step of the process is like writing a story. As I continue to create The Quiet Wilds collection, it is like turning the pages in a book. This current chapter, Dreams Beneath the Surface is my attempt to translate that experience into metal, enamel, and gemstone.
You’ll find echoes of waves, glints of underwater light, and forms that mirror fins, currents, coastline, sunsets, and starry night skies. Every piece is handcrafted using cloisonné enamel, 24k gold wire, settings of sterling silver, gold, and thoughtfully selected stones.
